What does an ERPNext service provider do?
An ERPNext service provider sets up ERPNext for your business: mapping your processes, configuring modules, migrating data, building custom features, training users and supporting the system after go-live. Vintrosys does all of these, plus hosting setup and version upgrades.
How long does an implementation take?
It depends on scope. A focused rollout of accounts, stock and sales usually takes a few weeks; multi-branch and manufacturing projects take longer. We go live in phases, module by module, starting with the process causing the most pain, so you use ERPNext early instead of waiting for one big switch-over. You get a dated plan after discovery.
Is your Frappe and ERPNext team certified?
Yes. Co-founder Kaviya Periyasamy is Frappe certified in Frappe Framework v15, and solution engineer Pon Sakthivel is Frappe certified in ERPNext v15. Both certificates are issued by Frappe, and anyone can verify them on Frappe School:
Kaviya's certificates and
Pon's certificates.
How much does ERPNext implementation cost in India?
ERPNext itself has no licence fee, for any number of users. What you pay for is implementation, any custom development, hosting and ongoing support. The cost depends on how many modules you need, how much customisation and data migration is involved, and how many locations go live. We give a fixed-scope estimate after a short fit call.
Is ERPNext a good alternative to Zoho, SAP Business One or Tally?
For many small and mid-sized businesses, yes. ERPNext covers accounting, inventory, manufacturing, sales, purchasing, HR, payroll, CRM and helpdesk in one system. It is open source, so there are no per-user fees and you can host it on your own server. Licensed ERPs can suit teams that want a fully vendor-managed product. We help you compare honestly on your own requirements.
Does ERPNext handle GST, e-invoicing and e-way bills?
Yes. The open-source India Compliance app adds GST, e-invoicing, e-way bills and GST return reports to ERPNext. We set it up and test it as part of every Indian implementation.
Can you move our data from Tally, Busy, Zoho or Excel?
Yes. We migrate customers, suppliers, items, opening balances and open transactions, then reconcile them against your old system before you switch over.
Do we own the software and the data?
Yes. ERPNext is open source under the GNU GPL v3 and the Frappe Framework under the MIT licence. You get full access to your server, your database and the source code of every custom app we build for you, in your own Git repository. There is nothing to cancel if you stop working with us.
What licence are ERPNext and Frappe under?
ERPNext is open source under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPL v3). The Frappe Framework it is built on uses the MIT licence. You can use, change and host both for any number of users with no licence fee, and the custom apps we build for you are yours. One rule to know: if you distribute ERPNext, or an app built on it, to other companies, the GPL requires you to share that code with them under the same licence. Using it inside your own business does not trigger this.
Where can ERPNext be hosted?
On your own server, on any cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, DigitalOcean and others) or on Frappe Cloud. You pay the hosting provider directly and can move whenever you like, taking your code and data with you. We recommend an option based on your users, locations and IT capacity.
Do you support ERPNext systems set up by someone else?
Yes. We start with a health check of the existing setup and customisations, fix what's urgent, and then move you onto a regular support plan.
Do you work with businesses outside India?
Yes. Besides customers across India, we work with businesses in Sri Lanka, the UAE, Kenya, Ghana, Morocco and Australia, and take on projects in the United States. Workshops, configuration, development, training and support all run online, with calls scheduled in your business hours.
Can ERPNext be implemented remotely?
Yes. Requirement calls, configuration, development, data migration and most training work well online. We visit for go-live and key workshops.
